Çiğdem Kentmen Çin received her bachelor's degree from Istanbul University, Faculty of Economics, Department of International Relations in 1999. She received her MA in European Studies from Bahçeşehir University in 2001, where she also worked as a research assistant. He received his PhD in Political Science from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 2007. In the same year, he started working as an Assistant Professor at Izmir University of Economics. In 2012, he was promoted to Associate Professor and in 2018 to Professor. In 2014, he was awarded the Outstanding Young Scientist Award (GEBIP) in the field of political science by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA).
Dr. Kentmen Çin's research interests include public opinion, public opinion surveys and voter behavior. Political Research Quarterly, JCMS: Journal of Common Market Studies, European Union Politics, Social Science Quarterly, Journal of European Social Policy and Environment & Behavior. He has been on the editorial board of European Union Politics since 2011. He is the work package leader and co-project coordinator of the Horizon Europe project RAISE (Recognition and Acknowledgement of Injustice to Strengthen Equality). From 2018 to 2024, she served as the Vice Rector responsible for education and academic affairs at Izmir University of Economics.
