Berker Özcureci graduated from Yaşar University Faculty of Law in 2016 and from Izmir University of Economics Sustainable Energy Master's Program with a full scholarship in 2022. His master's thesis examined the regulations and policies that hinder the development of energy cooperatives in Türkiye and proposed solutions by providing examples from the European Union and Germany.

Özcureci is currently pursuing his PhD in Business Administration at Izmir University of Economics, where he focuses on energy and sustainability practices by combining business administration sub-disciplines in an interdisciplinary manner. Having consolidated his experience in the field of law by practising as a lawyer, Özcureci started his academic career as a Research Assistant at Izmir University of Economics in 2021 and actively participated in many academic studies on sustainable energy and policy development. He has researched various international projects and refereed journal articles in this process.
